Yesterday the regatta of the jangadas race in the 5th dock in the merchant harbour. Thirty well known sailors skipped the teams of  jangadeiros, under the eys of the large public that came to see this exceptional race.

Celebrations on the finish line for the team skipped by Jacques CARAËS, Winner of  The Race 2000 / 2001 and co holder of the record of the Atlantic crossing on a monohull with the 2003 team challenge.

Today another regatta took place: the great schooners. Here is the result  : The winner is  JACOB MEINDART followed by  LA RECOUVRANCE. L'ETOILE and BELLE POULE.

 

As the party got going on the shore the boats carried on arriving in the port and we noted the arrival of  CHALLENGE, steam tug, one of the last survivors of the Dunkirk fleet. During the festival she will be open to the public and one of the highlights of the Entente Cordiale celebrations.
